#2 Ancient Rome Tour: Forum, Palatine Hill and ColosseumWe'll be tracing some of the most important concepts of the ancient Roman world, including many often overlooked political and religious dynamics.
We'll explore together the amazingly impressive remains of the late 1st century Imperial Palace on the Palatine Hill over to the equally impressive Circus Maximus. We'll see the area of the famous Romulean Huts and House of Augustus, down to the Roman Forum; the sprawling downtown, social, political, religious and economic center of ancient Rome. We'll recreate the grandeur and magnificence of the Colosseum, Palatine hill and ancient Roman Forums, while appreciating their importance right up to our modern day, through an impressive timeline from the foundations of the ancient Roman Monarchy, Republic and Empire. Some of the main highlights will be the Senate House, Basilica of Maxentius, House of the Vestal Virgins and any number of ancient state sponsored Pagan temple's and triumphal arches such as those of Titus and the Arch of Constantine (to view an article Rich wrote on it). It's super nice to get right into places without any sort of wait, as we recreate the past and motives that drove the creation of these most amazing sites, while seeing how so much of our modern day life derives from this ancient world, which helps to nicely hold the interest of those of ALL ages!
